Capital One began the tradition in 2002 with the inaugural All-America Mascot Team. Each year, we send out a call for nominations to all NCAA Division 1 A / AA schools with football programs. Judges – including Capital One representatives, and the mascot community -- select the team. Fans decide who wins by voting for their favorite at capitalonebowl.com. Each chosen mascot receives $5,000 for its school's mascot program; The Capital One National Mascot of the Year gets an additional $5,000 for it’s school's program.
